Updates
The Wonderful World of Eric J. Seidman
9/6/2008

Boy has a lot happened since I last updated here. I apologize to anyone who took offense to my lack of updates but it was one eventful summer. First and foremost, my very first book, Bridging the Statistical Gap, was released in June and is now available on Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble.com, as well as Lulu.com, the publishing site. The foreword was written by Jayson Stark.

I have decided to go back to graduate school and obtain an MBA, with a concentration in Accounting. My choices right now are La Salle University and St. Joseph's University.

Research has begun for my second book, tentatively titled Pitching For Grandpop: The Forgotten Legacy of Bucky Walters, which will focus on the incredible but oft-forgotten career of former major league 3B-turned-pitcher Bucky Walters. The book will tell the dual story of his career and the efforts of his grandson, Jeffrey, to get Bucky enshrined in Cooperstown. I will be formalizing a proposal and submitting to publishers before the end of the month.

I will also finally be updating the Films tab on this website, providing details about the various films I have written, directed, or produced.

Lastly, there will be some changes on the Sabermetrics tab as well. Instead of housing definitions or anything like that, I will just update my latest articles or anything I am working on from a statistical standpoint. As of now, however, I am still writing daily columns for Fangraphs.com, weekly columns for Statistically Speaking, and occasional columns, biweekly or so, for Baseball Prospectus. My brother and I are also penning an article for The Hardball Times Annual, which will be sold in bookstores, as well as The Graphical Player 2009. Look out for those!
